A beautiful summer wedding at Twin Owls Steakhouse

Some words from Haley…

How did you meet Michael?

Michael and I met in college at Iowa State University. I lived on the second floor and he was moving into the first floor when I first saw him. I was eating gummy worms on my balcony, and he was carrying a snowboard. Love at first sight!

How did you get engaged?

Michael proposed to me in July 2016, 2 days after my birthday. We were on a trip together in RMNP, hiking Black Lake that day. We had gotten to the top of the hike and I started making Easy Mac on the JetBoil. He sat down next to me on a rock overlooking Ribbon Falls and held out the ring. My favorite part is that he carried the ring on a small pink carabiner in his pack the days leading up to his proposal.

Did you enjoy wedding planning? What brought you to Estes Park?

I enjoyed most of the moments while planning. I think it can be as stressful or as simple as you want it to be. I enjoyed designing a wedding that expressed the two of us as a couple. We are from Des Moines, but we always knew we wanted a small intimate
